Hi - I'm Katie. I'm a Shih Tzu and I just turned a year old in February 2009. My mom is a Massage Therapist, so I get doggie massage all the time. Right now, I'm still a puppy, but when I'm older, I think my muscles will work better and I won't have to go to the doggie chiropractor (yes, they have those in California)
You probably already know how to massage your puppy, but I'll tell you what my Mama does. She starts by running her hands over my back, and down over my ribs. She kind of makes little circles with her hands on my sides. Then she takes each of my legs and kind of gently mooshes the muscles. By then I'm ready for a tummy rub, and my chest gets some nice circles, too. Then Mama talks to me while she smoothes her hands down the sides of my head - I make faces at her and she kind of messes around with my hairstyle. Finally there's the best part - the ear scratch!
I really like this massage business, although when I am getting a bath and would rather be chasing squirrels, Mama has to remind me how much people pay her to do this.
I understand there's something called "Cats" that might like massage, too, but I've never seen one.
I think you should massage your puppy if you have one, and go see my Mama for a people massage too.

My professional portraits are done by Paw Prints Photography at Barks 5th Avenue in Kalamazoo. They have frequent open photo sessions - Mama makes an appointment and they fix me up for Valentines Day, Christmas, whatever the season suggests - and there's no sitting fee. Mama just buys the photos she wants (and she usually wants A BUNCH!). They have Mama leave the room because she distracts me when I am trying to get into character, but they also take pictures with people in them too. It's really a lot of fun - lots of squeeky toys, funny sounds, and treats to keep my attention and hopefully get that "awww" picture. You can check me out on their website http://www.pawprintsphoto.biz/home.html - I'm picture 7 in the Spring/Summer Gallery. While you're there, check out the "Outtakes Gallery" - of course I'm very photogenic so there are no picture of me there, but it's funny.
